Commercial Titanium Ingot

First melt 

Manufacturing titanium and titanium alloys ingots starts by forming   titanium sponge and titanium scrap into compacts using a press.especially the alloys have special alloy addition ratio.

Consumable electrodes weled together by plasma arc based on the production plans for this ingots weight ,which goes through an arc melting in a vacuum or inert atmosphere to become the first melt ingot. The melting process begains with an arc forming between hte electrode and  crucible.  With the electrode melting,  metals runs down and is cooled  below crucible, first melt ingot be formed.)

Second melt 

For sure even quality, the first melt ingots  as new electrodes  start remelted again. After quality control checks, the second-time ingots be finished. Sometime,some medical,aerospace or millitary application have more higher finished materials internal performance,so it will melting third times or more for  interior of the material is thoroughly melted and uniform.
